A week at a glance from my photo album…
It seems these fun logs I blogged about a few weeks ago made as big an impression on the <3s of my etsy fans as it did on me. 44 <3s and counting! Thanks you etsy admirers. I spent 2 days over the weekend, making 10 of them for one Healdsburg, CA fan! I am SO excited to see them all set up.
I spend the rest of the weekend working on a soccer futon for the newest little Brandt in WA, designed by the wonderful Marisa O. 🙂 At the same time we solved one of our biggest order issues too; shipping. Locals know: $8 for a gallon of milk, an extra $12.95 handling charge. Anything shipped to or from Hawai’i usually has a nice tack on. And my previous continent-bound futon orders cost several pennies over $40. But, with some nifty vacuum bags, we’re testing out this new method that’ll be half the original cost!
What to do with all that money we’re gonna save on shipping futons? Maybe malasadas, portuguese bean soup, gyros, carnival rides!!! Any takers?!
I know two lucky girls who will be donning these dresses and ready for the adventure!
One of my recent students of the Sewing 101 series came back for round two in an accelerated class of dressmaking because she couldn’t help but put her new skills to the test. And because of this, she will have some happy friends 🙂
But FINALLY, the kicker:
Page 92 of the October issue of Honolulu Magazine!!!
It’s my first print publication feature! Woohoo. It’s a big deal for the girl who doesn’t get out
of her sweatshop on the town much. Thank you Honolulu Mag and all you supporters who got this teaching train up and running. We might be small: me and my ad, but no matter the size, we will go down in history having tried.
And done. This lady needs some zzz
Until next time……
